Hardcore Gamer

Am I one? Some of my friends think so but in my definition of a Hardcore Gamer, is someone who's fantastic at video games, and frequent games competitions. This also means he or she should be extremely good with shooter games since Half-Life is one of those games they play at competitions. Well, to disappoint some of my friends, I totally suck at FPS type of game. In other popular game genres like RPG, I'm not exactly that good at it either. I know some people who are so good at the RPG they play that they know exactly the combination of spells and exploits of the game glitches etc, so that they play with minimum effort with maximum results. Now, that's god mode for you. hehe.

In anycase, why am I still so hook and serious about my gaming when I'm not exactly good at it? I'm not quite sure why but I think it has to do with that very fact that I sucked at it, practice makes perfect right? Sometimes...

[img_assist|nid=196|title=Dragon Quest VIII|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=150|height=150] I just completed Dragon Warriors VIII: Journey of the Cursed King and that took me slightly over 100 hours to complete it. I know people who glimpse through the game in under 45 hours or less and some moderate gamer play it in under 60 hours but I took more than 2 times. Geeze. Call me a completion fanatic, I want the best equipment and complete skill tree for my characters and also to finish all the sub-quests. There's also the inquisitive me that wants to find out all the easter eggs in the games. I will actually notice that Angelo's eyes is drawn differently from the Hero or most other characters in the game and that he's left-handed. Yeah. I know most people don't notice details like this but I do. But then to be fair, most people won't spend hours oggling at the characters either. hehe.

[img_assist|nid=201|title=Sengoku Musou II|desc=Sengoku Musou II PS2 Cover.|link=node|align=left|width=107|height=150]The next game on my list is Samurai Warriors 2 or Sengoku Musou 2. Its a pity that Dynasty Warriors is a more popular series but then that's because I'm more familiar with the story/history of Dynasty Warriors compared with Samurai Warriors. I'm having fun with the gameplay though it bugs me at times that I don't understand the story of the character I'm playing since it's all written in japanese. While I can read some of the japanese character, my vocabulary's still rather limited. Oh well.

lol. you've got a point,

im not sure if you are

im not sure if you are "hardcore" but i am absolutely sure you are atleast part of the gaming community... one that strives off of all kinds of gamers...

I have had dragon quest 8 (warriors to you) for a REALLY long time and im still not done with it... *sigh* but I have kinda changed my attention the .hack series so that would explain that... either way yah, it doesnt matter how "good" at it you are, what matters is how hot you are while you are playing, and we both do very well i nthat area.
