Dirge of Cerberus

[img_assist|nid=242|title=Dirge of Cerberus PS2 Cover|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=107|height=150] This is really a game for Vincent Valentine fangirls/fanboys because it is a shooter game, unlike the usual FF games. I knew it was a shooter game before I bought it, but being a Vincent Valentine fanatic, I just had to have it.

Once you pop the game into the PS2, you get the usual Square Enix-styled CG scenes which are really beautiful. Of course, I get to ogle at Vincent close up, that's always a nice touch for a fangirl.

The characters are ok, Vincent being super cool in the game. I know there's a contrast in 'coolness' when you see his turk appearance. He sure does look better with his long hair and trademarked red cloak.

Apart from the eyecandy, the actual gameplay's complex for me, as a beginner in shooter games. I tried the various control and my best to shoot at the targets, but failed very miserably at it. I completed my first mission with only 7% accuracy. See any worst shooter performance than me?

Its frustrating so I quitted the game and played the tutorial mode. That helps quite a bit so I know more about the controls and some useful tips on survival. Once I completed the tutorial mode, I felt more confident so I continued the game. The next chapter, I did alot better with 73% accuracy. See? What a change?

I still have problem surviving though. I'm taking in way too much damage and the game only allows me to store up to 4 potions and 2 hi-potions at any time so I have to try not to stand still and let enemies shoot me while I'm trying to lockon my target. That's really bad. hehe.

I've seen many reviews on this game. Most said it doesn't have much replay value so I had a low expectation when I play it. I just want to play out Vincent's story. This game is about Vincent and his background story.

its nice but most

its nice but most professional reviews gave it an average rating so if you don't have high expectations, its quite an enjoyable game. If you can rent the game, do it coz I don't think the game will have a high replay value.
