Surprisingly for my long weekend, I didn't spend too much time playing WoW. Instead, I was playing Dynasty Warriors 6 on my old PS2. Compared to the previous few series, I find that DW6 is a lot harder and the costumes prettier. The voice acting has improved, with the english version not pronoucing Cao Cao's name as "Cow Cow" which always make me rofl. This time, they at least pronounced his name right.
The cutscenes have improved, at least Ma Chao wasn't overwhelming sprouting his garbage about justice, although Justice's still a big word in his storyline, it was toned down slightly which is a nice touch.
I've only finished Zhao Yun, Ma Chao, Zhou Yu and Ling Tong's musou mode so far and even on easy difficulty level I still had to restart some of the scenarios when I got killed or the stupid commander get killed.
The Battle of Chang Ban is super annoying. Playing on the Shu side, the condition to win is to allow your commander Liu Bei to reach the docks to escape. With countless ambushes on the way and trying to get at least a group of refugees to escape is just annoying. I've restarted this scenario with either the dumb Liu Bei getting killed or all the refugees being wiped out. Plus you have to move fast in this scenario, Liu Bei just kept running regardless of the enemy generals ahead and the refugees are out of the way at the back.
On the Wei side which I'm playing Xiahou Dun's musou mode right now, I've tried this scenario 6x now on normal difficulty and hasn't any luck completing it. For Wei, the condition to win is to kill Liu Bei and that annoying pest just kept running. It doens't matter that you're whacking his ass, he just kept running and unless I can kill him in a single chain I don't stand a chance. And he's in a superhyped mode too, which makes him harder to kill. And then Zhao Yun appeared to save him which makes me even pissed off. Looks like I'll just have to ignore my optional target and kill some refugees instead. And I've tried to kill Zhang Fei at least 4 times now in this scenario but he's so damn hard to kill.
Well, I think this game's gonna burn me a few more weekends to get through all the musou modes. I only wish it'll stop lagging so bad, certain scenarios just lag terrible.
