June's the month of summer holiday and the month of the Great Singapore Sale (GSS). The tourism board organise this massive sale event across the country to try attract visitors to SG to shop, although having a sale doesn't equate to finding a bargain.
I've been wearing slippers to work, while it is stated in my company's rule book that slippers aren't allowed, nobody has said a word about it, except my mother. After I blurted my big mouth and told her I wear jeans and slippers to work, she hasn't stopped nagging at me about how inappropriate dress sense I've got since.
Well I didn't care. There is no pair of shoes more comfortable than a good pair of slippers, sure its not so presentable. *sigh* So I walked past this shoe shop after work yesterday and decided to browse. I found a pair of 'presentable' shoes that's at least not on heels. It costs $180 bucks!!
I can't remember the last time I paid that much for a pair of shoes but good shoes don't come cheap right? And the salesgirl convinced me that they are comfortable and breatheable. Fine, damnit. I bought the shoes and started wearing today.
And that's like one 10mins walk from my house to the bus stop and a 5min walk from my workplace's busstop to office. And my feet is so sore that I can't wear the shoes anymore. It just bloody hurts. :(
And I still have the rest of the day to endure. So I grit my teeth and went to get a pair of stockings and some bandaids. Ouch.
Apparently I have to 'break' the shoes. What a bother. I think I'm sure gonna head downstairs to buy a pair of slippers to wear for the rest of my day. Good thing I work just above a shopping mall.
