Vexed Start

Last friday I had my performance review at work. My boss told me that I met his expectations on various criteria but he said I have lots of room to improve on on my coding skills. T_T Gotta buck up on that. And he also wants me to take more initiative and ownership of tasks, and he also told me that he is not one to 'spoonfeed' as he doesn't want people to rely on him. Understandable but I also know how tough it can be sometimes and that having a huge well of knowledge to tap on, ie my boss, can be so much timesaving. I won't tell him that of course because ultimately everyone has to pull their own weight.

At the end of the review, he told me that I'll be confirmed and no longer be on probation. Good news, yeah but no raise. (sigh) And I still have to get my medical test done as part of the HR procedure to be confirmed and the only time I can meet the clinic's opening hours is on saturday morning where it is at its most crowded. Part of the reason why I've dragged my feet doing that test for the last 2 months.

2 hours after the review, I attended a briefing meeting and now have to undertake a huge project that has a terribly short deadline, on 2nd week of July. This means it'll be a really stressful next couple of weeks with overtime required. And whats worse, I still haven't got a clue where to start. Argghhh.
