Axilya Ellarion - Play by Post Games

Meet Axilya , only daughter of House Ellarion in Evereska, the fortress city of the elves. Axilya is my RPG character for a new Play-by-Post campaign - Candlekeep Campaign (Forgotten Realms).

Starting Background Story - Hiflanyl Ellarion

Axilya's father is a seasoned moon elven adventurer from a minor noble house, who travelled extensively and it was only in his third century when adventures took him into the mysterious Yuirwood forest. There, he met Axilya's mother, a star elf sorceress.

Hiflanyl suffers from wanderlust and tends to leave Evereska every few years or so to roam the realms. Occasionally, he would bring Axilya along on his adventuring trips, dragging one of his closest friends, Nym, cleric in the service of the elven goddess of Love, Hanali Celanil, to guard Axilya.

Axilya was born in the Yuirwood forest but her father took her back to Evereska when she was five years old. Her mother however, remained in Yuirwood. Not much is known about her mother as Hiflanyl seldom talks about her. All Axilya knows is that Seldanna is busy fighting against intruders in her home realm and her current location is unknown.

Seldanna Dracoseir

Unknown to Axilya, her mother comes from a distant family of gold dragons and upon reaching adolescent, her dragonic blood starts to awaken and Axilya gradually developes certain dragonic traits. Currently, she is getting physically stronger and slightly more hardy.

Axilya inherited her mother's genetic traits and her ability to cast spells by instinct. As a star elf is still rarely found in Evereska, Axilya is an unusual-looking elf with her long fiery red hair and bright violet-colored eyes. Axilya is friendly and easygoing, but too playful and has a short attention span.

Unlike Hiflanyl's lawful nature, Axilya's chaotic tendencies both frustrates him and worries him. She tends to do things completely out of his expectations and her actions come off as impulsive urges and bores the mark of immaturity. Hiflanyl has made many attempts to teach Axilya the importance of Discipline and to respect propriety and rules but meet with limited success.

While Axilya remains carefree, she is well aware of the Elven intrigues and had learnt to stay away from most sun elves whose racial prejudices are infamous. Axilya's only rule in life is to defend Evereska, her family and friends and to have fun - lots of fun.

Ilitharath Ellarion

Axilya's only brother, Ilitharath is at least a century older than her. Ilitharath grew up to be a fighter with good instincts and serves his father and lord faithfully.

Axilya's relationship with Ilitharath is a close one; Ilitharath dotes on his little sister, proving to be more tolerant of her unexpected actions than their father.

He was reported missing during a campaign against drow raiders in the High Forest, much to Hilflanyl's anguish. Axilya was devastated when she heard the dire news.

House Ellarion

House Ellarion is a minor noble house, with Hiflanyl as the Lord and Axilya's brother, Ilitharath as the appointed heir. House Ellarion's allies are mainly moon elves in Evereska and Evermeet, although they have worked with sun elves clans as well. The House has pledged their services to the Queen in Evermeet and the Hill Council of Evereska.

Primarily concerned with the defense of Evereska, many of House Ellarion warriors are in the patrols and armies of Evereska. Young elves are trained in warfare and combat from an early age while those who had portrayed a talent in arcane arts are trained to become battlemages; Disicpline and Loyalty to Evereska is expected from every Ellarion.

As the only daughter of Hiflanyl and the only remaining child, it may be inevitable for Axilya to become the heir, Axilya's chaotic nature tends to defy the very roots of the clan, much to Hiflanyl's frustrations.

The clan primarily worships Corellon and Sehanine Moonbow but also pays homage to the Seldarine, however Axilya have developed a special affinity with the Goddess of Love - Hanali Celanil.

Although barely an adult, Axilya has participated in various small campaigns under the banner of her house, in the defense of Evereska, both permitted by the council and on her own free will.

Familiar - Tressym

Axilya has a tressym familiar, Starlight who is her best friend and almost always follows her wherever she goes.

Starlight is an intelligent white winged cat with cyan-colored eyes. Starlight loves to sleep in the first ray of sunlight and flies in the starlit nights. He is a feisty feline, with a weakness for treats and a tendency to roam the skies as and when he pleases.

Axilya first meet Starlight in the vicinity of Eveningstar whilst travelling with her father and Nym. She was roused from reverie by Nym to find Starlight digging into their supplies for food.

As a tressym is sacred in Hanali's church, Axilya allows the feline to have a feast from their supplies, unharmed and unrestricted. Starlight has since followed her around.

In-game Character Development

Axilya tends to give the impression of a young frail, childish girl too used to the protection of her over-protective father. She is a minor noble, born to a house of reputable elven warriors in the service of the Queen of Elves. She is friendly and kind, though unsure of her own abilities.

This star elf makes friends easily with her with her easygoing attitude and carefree nature. Unlike most elves of Toril, Axilya is not binded by prejudice of 'lesser' races. She has since get along with several members of the party and has developed a romantic interest in a fellow Sun elf warrior from Evereska, whom has seeked and obtained permission from her father to ensure her safety while they are travelling in the same group. In return, Axilya has offered to watch his back and has made it one of her top priorities to do so.

As the party makes their way to their destination, Axilya reveals that she has a fondness of fireball spells and tends to overuse it - is the current pyromaniac in the party. She even tells a brief story of how a stray fireball spell, as a result of a calculated risk, lands sparks on Nym's hair. Although, Nym managed to save much of his own hair, he was unimpressed with Axilya's lack of control and excessive teasing from her. The star elf thus promised not to abuse her spells but as elven memory is long, it will be a while before Nym would dare to trust her control.
