Chinese New Year & Me

Music: E-Type - Here I Go
Ever since I was twenty, Chinese New Year and I stopped becoming friends. Well, sort of. It gets worse when my family started having reunion dinner aka "extended version" which means having a dinner with some relatives (distant & close) that you would probably not recognise walking on the same street.
I still can't tell whose kids or which family side they belong too. Eating together is just a pain in the arse. First I have to show my face in a crowded restaurant and squeezed myself into a table of 11 which probably should sit only maximum 10 persons. And yeah, the food although tasty, is v small in portion. I went home still starving! During the entire dinner, I promptly plugged my ipod earphones into my ears and listened to it all night. Definitely beats listening to small talk and gossip or worst, the loud noisy CNY music. I just hate those.
My sister bought a small gift for me, a nail biter lotion that costs around $20. (geeze, what a ripoff!). Still I decided to at least show my appreciation and applied the lotion. Soon enough I totally forgot about it and put my thumb into my mouth - and got the most horrible bitter taste ever. Even after rinsing my mouth twice, I swear I can still taste the lingering taste. YUCKS! Oh well, I guess that's lotion that's doing its job. Now, if only I can convinice myself to apply it again. haha. And since I invested in a set of acrylic extensions, I can hardly bite through that hard layer now, even if I want to.
Speaking of CNY, I spent the whole two days pigging out. Yeah I love the pineapple tarts and prawn rolls. I just can't stopped myself. haha. So I ate hell alot these two days.
Not to mentioned, I get a bit of time to play my game so I'm a happy gal (mostly).
My brother's leaving to work in Beijing within this week so I gotta make time and hang out with him before he flies off. He's going there for internship with a french company for about 6 months.
I saw my grandpa for the first time after he was discharge from hospital two months ago (had a operation on his nose for first stage nose cancer). Man, he lost quite a bit of weight and he told me, he can't hear very well in one ear - apparently a side-effect of chemo. Poor grandpa, at least the chemo session is all done and he's A-OK now.
I saw my grandma like once a year so she missed me alot. And starting to show me her clothes and asked me if they were too trendy for her. hehe. I wanted to take a snapshot with her but she wouldn't have it without makeup. lol

Aww, I'm sorry that your new year didn't go well. That lotion thing must really have sucked. Can't imagine...
