Monkeys on the loose
Believe it or not, I saw monkeys on the streets last weekend and I mean real monkeys - the trees-climbing buggers with long skinny tails. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw one walking literally on a flat football field, it was as prominently as a huge diamond ring on a lady's fingers. I really wanted to snap a shot with my mobile phone except I was on the other side of the bus.
I'm not quite sure where they came from. I saw them on two occasions in different areas near my home. On the second occasion I saw many monkeys, around 4 to 5 of them sitting on the fence railings on the street, playing around. This time I'm pretty sure they came from the dense vegetation behind the railings. Strangely I've never thought that wild monkeys were still in the forest or something since we no longer have many wild vegetation left. I've passed by the same area countless times and have never saw any monkeys either. I wondered why the sudden interest to appear now.
So far nobody is feeding them as far as I can see. It seems that they mostly ran out of food in the forest and have decided to venture out into the open. I wondered how long it'll take before the monkeys become a nuisance.
The last time I see a wild monkey was many years ago when my dad took the family to the Nature Reserve. And I remember the bloody monkeys stole my pack of nuts. @.@ They are apparently so tame that they literally followed behind us, ready to snatch our food away at the slighest chance.
