During this time, I had learnt alot about web design and programming web applications which I later use these skills to start my career. It's been a great learning experience.

DDG Fanlisting

Wooo, someone made a fanlisting for DDG. Wow, I'm surprised. I know John told me he was going to make one but I think someone beat him to it. =) So it goes to show that there are still people who loves DDG. I'm genuinely suprised, really.

DDG Updates Log

Here is the up-to-date log change for DDG's upcoming core upgrade.

Proposed Changes:

- New Design
- Improved Query Database Layer
- Database Re-Design
- Site Caching
- SQL Results Caching
- Files Caching
- HTML Re-write to conform to XHTML standards
- Breadcrumb
- Standard Form API
- Other Modules specification
- RSS Feeds

New Design

The new design has been completed with a brand new stylesheet. The main difference will be the complete usage of tableless main template.

The key is ease of navigation. I will be using standard colors, links and styles throughout the entire website so it is more consistent.

DDG Updates

DDG version ice: DDG version ice preview.I know I haven't been updating DDG that much lately and its just nagging at me that the engine's not as optimized as I had previously thought. I've been thinking where I want DDG to head towards in the near future. I don't think there's a lack of interest but rather a lack of time. As you know, I've been a professional web developer for nearly the past year now and when you're working fulltime developing people's websites, you tend to get sick of it and thus I haven't been coding DDG.

Busy Busy

Music: mpetre net radio

Anyway it seems I ran into a bit of trouble this week. I had to attend a cousin's wedding last sunday and was busy as hell trying to arrange my schedule for the day. I had to go for an appointment that dragged over 6.30pm and I have to get to the wedding dinner at 7.30pm in town and I hardly knew the way there. I was so hungry too, and wedding dinners always start late so I knew I had better grab a bite first. Getting there wasn't too hard in the end but it was such a drag waiting it out. Mom wouldn't let me get away even though it ended around 11.30pm and I have to work the next day. She insisted that I stay for some stupid family photo shooting but I managed to slip home.

Color Scheme & Web Design

Music: Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

I ditched the lime green color scheme and opted for a reddish one, not that I'm a fan of red but the other color I would use is blue. A pity that I've used blue too much, my layouts are usually blue. *shrugs*

At least this red is easier on the eyes. I did the green one on my LCD screen and it was suppose to be mint green or at least on the pastel side. Unfortunately the color rendering between LCD and CRT is still quite wide and in my case, apparent. I had quite a shock when I went home to saw lime green all over my blog. Eww!

Btw, I did a new theme for the DDG Message Board today.
